Central govt staffer booked for raping colleague

Pune: The Bund Garden police on Thursday registered an offence in opposition to a central government worker for raping his 47-year-old colleague for over seven years, first promising marriage and then threatening to publish her obscene pictures and clips on the social media.

The lady approached the police when the suspect started threatening her to make her obscene pictures and video clips viral. “We have booked the suspect under sections 376 (rape) and 377 (unnatural offence) of IPC, and the relevant sections of the Information and Technology Act,” said an officer of the Bund Garden police.


He said the 45-year-old suspect and the girl labored in the same workplace. The lady said in her complaint that the suspect have been raping her from 2010 after promising to marry her. “The lady said that the suspect used to rape her on the premises of their workplace and in a hotel on Sinhagad Road,” the officer said.


He said the suspect clicked obscene pictures of the girl and recorded her video. “The lady said in her complaint that once the suspect refused to marry her, she had started avoiding him. But the suspect used to rape her by means of threatening to publish her pictures and movies on social media web sites in addition to on the porn sites,” the officer said.


Frustrated by means of the harassment, the girl on Thursday lodged a complaint in opposition to the suspect. “We are but to arrest him,” the officer said.
