GURUGRAM: Two males had been booked for dishonest a 25-year-old woman and robbing her of Rs 2.five lakh cash and jewelry.
According to police, the complainant, who's pursuing a web designing path and is a resident of Rohtak, had come to the city together with her ‘friends’ — Navin and Karan Gogia — on December 28 for a get together. The trio visited the Sector 23 marketplace and drank some beer. After a while, the lady requested Navin and Karan to drop her home as she wasn’t feeling smartly.
The woman, in her criticism said, the duo requested her to pay for the gas. As she handed her handbag to them, she printed the PIN so that they could make the fee via her debit card. Diesel worth Rs1,000 used to be bought via her card and then she used to be dropped home.
Next day the lady realised that her ATM card, jewellery, Rs 19,500 cash, and two signed clean cheques have been missing from her handbag. When she contacted the duo, they said that they have been playing a prank and would return her her stuff within a couple of days. Trusting them, she got back to her day by day existence. She started getting suspicious when the duo started retreating cash from her account. She got her ATM blocked when a total of Rs 1,48,500 used to be withdrawn from her account, but to her surprise Rs 82,000 used to be withdrawn from her account via two cheques.
The woman approached a police station in Rohtak where officials requested her to document a criticism in Gurugram. Based on her criticism, an FIR under sections 379 (theft), 420 (dishonest) of the IPC used to be registered against the two accused at Palam Vihar police station.
