MANIPAL: Revels 18, the yearly cultural fest of Manipal Institute of Technology, MAHE got beneath way, here on Tuesday with the opening rite.
With over 2500 scholars from engineering colleges across the country collaborating, this edition of the fest is bigger than all earlier ones. Competitions in cultural and sports activities events get underway day after today.
Revels, one of the biggest faculty gala's within the state has groups like Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), RVCE, Christ University, MS Ramaiah, NIT Surathkal, BITS Goa and others collaborating. Competitions in cultural events like dance, music, literature, quizzing, dramatics shall be held along side sporting events cricket, football, basketball, hockey and others shall be held.
For 2018, Revels is beneath the patronage of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization), and this boosts the theme for this year’s edition- “Redefining Traditions”. Revels 18 has social collaborations with student-run organisations that paintings for social reasons such as growing awareness of menstrual health among the public within the rural proximity of Manipal.
One of the sights of Revels is the Proshow. Tushal Lall’s Indian Jam Project performed on Tuesday. A fashion display with Shaan Suhas Kumar, Miss Earth India 2017 is scheduled for March eight; ‘aswekeepsearching’ and 'When Chai met Toast' shall be on March nine and Arjun Kanungo and DJ Quintino will carry out on March 10, and Yahya Bootwala and Aranya Johar on March 11.
