Students, parents plan march against CBSE Class XII re-test

KOLKATA: Frustrated with the CBSE’s resolution to hold a retest for Class XII economics exam on April 25, virtually a month in the end their board paper tests are over, a group of students of more than a few streams and categories plans to take out a protest march in south Kolkata this Sunday. The board government have, however, decided not to hold the Class X arithmetic paper re-test in Bengal.
The rally, the first of its kind the town has ever witnessed, will be led through Class XII CBSE scholars of all main colleges right here. Students of various categories and streams and their parents are likely to join the march, which is scheduled to start at 11am from Golpark and end at Garia, after crossing Dhakuria, Jadavpur and Bagha Jatin.


These kids, who up to now used social media to just about join in any kind of protest, be it against an apprehension assault in Afghanistan or a college shooting in the US, or sexual assault on a student in south Kolkata, will hit the streets with their demand. “It’s true we simply exchange our display picture on WhatsApp and Facebook as the very best type of protest. They can't punish us for some mischief through others,” stated Aniket Gupta, a Class-XII student of trade, who needed to cancel a vacation along with his friends on account of the uncertainty over the re-test date. A gaggle of students on Friday met senior officials of south suburban division, in search of for permission for the rally. The officer has requested them to return back on Saturday. “The reliable verbally agreed with the route however requested us to return on Saturday,” stated Gupta.


The rally was planned on Thursday, when the scholars decided to take out the march against both categories X and XII re-tests. They created a Facebook match, titled “Protest against Re-Exam”. Till Friday evening, 113 other people had registered their intention of attending the rally. Classes X and XII scholars spent most of Friday, planning the march, making ready banners, placards and posters and working on quirky slogans. But through night time, the board government introduced that no retest will be held for the Class X maths exam in Bengal through it introduced April 25 because the date for Class XII economics paper re-test.


Now that the Class X scholars were spared a reexamination, Class XII scholars are much more dissatisfied. “They could have followed the similar system for us. We had no access to the leaked paper. Then why are we being punished?” stated Pritam Saha, a Class XII student, whose parents are nonetheless now permitting him to play football to ensure he doesn’t injure himself before the re-test.
