Two held trying to loot ex-defence officers

NOIDA: Three men and a girl, claiming to be faculty scholars, robbed a retired brigadier and his driving force on Saturday night but failed in their attempt to grasp the auto of a retired wing commander after a passerby fought them until police arrived.
The group had first attacked Brigadier Raghuvir Singh (retd), his spouse and driving force Rampal Singh round 10.45pm on Saturday. Singh and his family had just returned house in Sector 37 from a birthday party.

When they reached house, they discovered two youths — Minhaaz and Saif, both round 20 — standing at their doorstep. They claimed to be from a satellite TV provider company and introduced to extend the collection of channels. Meanwhile, two others — Nitin Pawar and a girl Nidhi Rathore — had been ready in Nitin’s Honda City outdoor the home.

“When I told him that I had no longer known as someone, the youths took out pistols and forcibly entered the home. Then, they demanded Rs three lakh,” mentioned Raghuvir Singh.

“One of them claimed that his mom was admitted to Kailash Hospital and her situation was fairly severe. I told them no person helps to keep Rs three lakh at house. When I argued with him, he slapped my driving force and snatched his purse, money and the keys of my automotive from him. I asked my cook dinner Gopal to call up police, which he did,” he mentioned. As Gopal made the decision to police, Minhaaz and Saif picked up Raghubir’s purse and attempted to flee. As they rushed out, they saw Wing Commander Rajiv Sharma (retd) passing by in his automobile. The youths allegedly sought a lift from Sharma and were given into his automotive. Nitin and Nidhi adopted them in the Honda City.

“As Sharma drove the auto for a couple of metres, the youths attacked him and attempted to grasp the keys of his automotive. They pushed Sharma out of the auto and started driving away. However, the auto soon crashed into a tree and the tyres were given deflated,” SP (town) Arun Kumar mentioned. Sharma’s battle was, on the other hand, observed by a gross sales govt, Varun Dawar, who was passing throughout the house on his Royal Enfield.

He was on his option to Jaipuria Plaza and saw the retired wing commander suffering with the assailants.

“He known as his friends and attempted to interact the assailants in a struggle until his friends arrived. As the youths fought the trio, the police arrived and stuck Saif and Minhaaz,” he mentioned. Nitin and Nidhi, on the other hand, controlled to flee in their Honda City.


According to the police, the youths have been converting their statements and feature claimed that their friends Nitin is an MCA passout from Greater Noida’s GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management and that Nidhi studies model designing in Amity University in Sector 125. Similarly, Saif has reportedly told the police he is a third-year BCA student at GL Bajaj Insitute. Minhaaz has apparently told the police that he studies in IIMT College of Engineering, Greater Noida.


A spokesperson for Amity University mentioned there was no student named Nidhi Rathore in the varsity’s model designing direction. A spokesperson for IIMT mentioned they could no longer ascertain whether or not the scholars had been enrolled in their institute or no longer.


A spokesperson for GL Bajaj mentioned they did not have a BCA direction. The police have lodged an FIR in opposition to the four, together with the girl, underneath Section 304 (attempt to robbery) of the IPC.
