AHMEDABAD: Neelam Patel (33), a resident of Rameshwar Park in Vastral, has lodged a criticism underneath the Dowry Prohibition Act towards her husband and inlaws at Ramol police station.
According to the criticism, she had married Suraj Patel through a marriage bureau in February 2018 and went to reside at her matrimonial area. Neelam has alleged that her husband and mother-in-law Surajben used to harass her mentally and physically and even did not allow her to devour.
“The in-laws stored the kitchen locked and did not allow her to talk to her folks and brother. We are probing the main points mentioned within the FIR,” said a senior police official of Ramol police station.
Police resources said on March four, 2018, her husband threatened her that if she stayed to any extent further on the area he would kill her and hence she left her matrimonial area. “Neelam has additionally alleged that her husband used to overcome her and pressurize her to get Rs 25 lakh from her folks and brother,” said a police official.
