Festivals are all about sharing love and happiness with your circle of relatives and family members, following traditions and having a great time. And that’s what Easter is all about for our celebs as well. Bangalore Times spoke to a couple of them to find out what Easter means to them, the traditions they observe on this specific day and what the lavish ceremonial dinner is composed of…

Sharmiela Mandre, Actress
For actress Sharmiela Mandre, Easter brings back a lot of youth recollections. “Since my mom’s aspect of the circle of relatives is Catholic, we commence the day by going to church. After that, we seek advice from members of the family and generally finally end up at my grandmother’s space for a normal Easter lunch, which is a mix of dishes like Roast Chicken and Turkey, and cakes made by my grandmother. My favorite is the Banofee Pie,” says Sharmiela.

Banofee Pie
INGREDIENTS
* 250g digestive biscuits, overwhelmed
* 100g butter, melted
* Four small bananas
* 300ml carton whipping cream, whipped
* Grated chocolate to garnish
* Caramel (may also be made from scratch or purchased from the shop)
* 2 tablespoon of brown sugar for the cream

RECIPE
* Put the overwhelmed biscuit right into a bowl with melted butter. Mix it together completely. Press the combination into the bottom and sides of the tin. Chill for 10 mins. This will form the bottom of the pie.
* Now, spread the caramel over the bottom with the assistance of a spoon.
* Slice the bananas and scatter them on best. Now, put the cream on best (beaten prior to now for approximately 15 mins with brown sugar) and decorate with grated chocolate.
* Store it within the refrigerator until you’re able to devour it.

There are a lot of traditional Kerala dishes that are prepared on Easter by my spouse, that I love to devour,” says Bruce. His favourite- appam and chicken stew.

Kerala Chicken Stew
INGREDIENTS
* 1 kg chicken items
* 20 cardamon pods
* 6 inch cinnamon stick
* 7 cloves
* 2 large onions
* Four inch ginger piece finely chopped
* 10 medium size inexperienced chillies (or much less if you happen to desire a milder stew)
* 1/Four teaspoon pepper
* 1 tablespoon coriander powder
* 1\/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
* 1/Four teaspoon turmeric powder
* 2 large potatoes — diced
* 1 cup thick coconut milk
* five tablespoon oil
* Curry leaves
* Salt

RECIPE
* Heat oil, then upload the mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds crackle, upload cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and mix well.
* Add ginger, chopped onions, inexperienced chilli and curry leaves. Saute until the onion is soft.
* Add pepper, coriander, garam masala and turmeric powders and mix to let the spices roast for a minute.
* Add the chicken items, sprinkle salt and stir to coat with the masala.
* Add 1 and 1\/2 cup of water, quilt and boil for 15 mins, stirring every so often.
* Add potato cubes and cook for another 15-20 mins until the potatoes are cooked.
* Add coconut milk and take it off the flame as quickly because it begins to boil.
* Serve with hot pallappam or iddiappam. (If the use of recent coconut, upload its thick extract first after which the thinner extract of coconut milk. If the use of processed coconut milk, upload some water or milk to skinny it and bring to the desired consistency.)

On Easter, there may be one custom that we've got been following for years and that’s an Easter egg hunt. It’s mostly for the children but we've been doing it once a year. In addition to this, there's a lavish lunch that the circle of relatives feasts on. Personally, I stay up for the cakes essentially the most, prepared by my sister- in-law,” says Rohit.

Eggless Chocolate Mousse
INGREDIENTS
* 200 grams of semi-sweet chocolate (you can use cooking chocolate as well)
* 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
* 1 teaspoon of quick coffee ( in 1 teaspoon of hot water)
* 300ml carton whipping cream, whipped
* 500 grams of whipping cream or thick cream
* ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

RECIPE
* Chop the chocolate into small items and save a small piece for the garnish.

* Place chocolate and butter right into a microwave protected bowl, and warmth for 30 seconds at a time until the chocolate has melted.

* Remove from microwave and upload the coffee syrup.

* Whisk for a couple of mins until completely blended and somewhat cool. Add the cream a bit at a times and whisk until you get a clean, even colored consistency.

* Add the vanilla extract and whisk for a couple of mins.

* Pour right into a container and place within the refrigerator for 2-Four hours.

* Before serving, grate the remaining bit of chocolate and sprinkle over.

* You too can garnish with mini Easter eggs if you have any.
