State tops in organ donation, says health min

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu has topped other states in the country in organ donation for the previous 3 consecutive years, stated health minister C Vijaya Baskar on Saturday, while speaking at an tournament to felicitate the families, who had donated organs in their brain-dead kin, on the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research here in the town.

The minister felicitated the members of the family.


According to Vijaya Baskar, the state has also carried out neatly in the remedy of communicable and non-communicable illnesses and has emerged as a role fashion for other states.


Municipal management minister S P Velumani, who was once also present on the tournament, stated awareness about organ transplantation was once on the upward thrust in the state. “After Chennai, Coimbatore is rapid rising as a healthcare hub. The present infrastructure development developments will catapult the town into the scientific tourism map,” he stated.
