CBI traps I-T official for taking Rs 20,000 bribe

HYDERABAD: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths have trapped an Income Tax reputable at his place of business in Warangal after he had taken a ?20,000 bribe from the complainant on Wednesday.


The accused offcial is, Sashi Kumar, Senior Tax Assistant, Income Tax Office situated at Warangal. Based at the complaint lodged by way of a petitioner, CBI sleuths laid a lure at Sashi Kumar’s place of business in Warangal on Wednesday and caught him red passed when he demanded for and permitted a bribe of ?20,000 from the complainant, for the aim of delivering clearance order issued by way of the Income Tax Officer, Ward (four), Warangal for the awareness issued under section 142 (1) of the IT Act.


The bribe amount was once seized from his possession and after the lure, CBI sleuths started searches at the area of the accused in Warangal and other places connected to him. The accused reputable, Sashi Kumar was once arrested and he will be produced ahead of the CBI courtroom for judicial remand soon.


In some other development, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths laid a lure and arrested Village Revenue Officer (VRO), R Janardhan of Thadagonda village in Rajanna Sirisilla district when he demanded and permitted ?5,000 bribe from the complainant, G Manoj Kujmar, to issue mutation certificates referring to the 30 guntas agricultural land of his mother.


ACB sleuths laid the lure at the Tehsildar place of business in Boinpalle mandal of Rajanna Sirisilla district and recovered the bribe amount from Janardhan on Wednesday afternoon. The accused reputable was once arrested and he will be produced ahead of the ACB courtroom for judicial remand.
