Electricity minister hits out at Stalin

Namakkal: State electrical energy minister P Thangamani hit out at DMK running president M Ok Stalin for demanding the resignation of well being minister C Vijaya Baskar.

Talking to journalists in Namakkal on Tuesday, Thangamani questioned whether any of the DMK leaders resigned when they faced allegations of corruption in 2G scam. He used to be relating to the statement by Stalin demanding chief minister Edappadi Ok Palaniswami to sack Vijaya Baskar and the Tamil Nadu Director General of Police T Ok Rajendran after the Madras high court docket ordered a CBI probe into gutkha scam.


“Why didn’t DMK leaders surrender when 2G scam broke out? They have the proper to demand resignation if Stalin had set an example then by getting DMK males accused in the scam to surrender,’’ Thangamani stated.


When asked about allegations of irregularities in cooperative polls, Thangamani stated that the elections have been held as consistent with law. “Those defeated in the polls have been elevating the allegations for political mileage,’’ he stated.
