AHMEDABAD: A petition has been filed within the Gujarat prime court docket by way of one Ramji Dantani seeking probe into the unintentional loss of life of his son, Sanjay. Dantani suspects that his son’s loss of life is a case of honour killing. After listening to the plea, judge J B Pardiwala ordered the police to expedite the probe into the case.
The petitioner submitted in his plea that his son at the side of his liked, a minor girl, had allegedly eloped in January and later his son’s frame was fished out from Narmada canal. According to the petitioner, the woman’s frame is but to be fished out, which strengthens the doubt of honour killing.
According to the FIR of the case, the couple had allegedly jumped into the Narmada canal in Gandhinagar. The police recovered the boy’s frame and the woman’s shoes and her Activa. The police registered a case of suicide on the basis of primary investigation. However, the frame of the woman was no longer recovered. According to the FIR registered with Vastrapur police, the early life had allegedly lured the woman with marriage guarantees when she was just 15 years previous. “Additional public prosecutor showing for the state identified that the son of the petitioner and the woman have been in a relationship. According to the counsel showing for the applicant, the case is one of honour killing,” reads the oral order by way of justice J B Pardiwala on May 3.
