MC workers to be on strike for 3 more days, govt says demands unjustifiable

AMBALA: The sanitation workers in Ambala have been on a strike for greater than six days now. The strike has left a right away impact at the waste control system of the entire city which has come to a halt. The Municipal Corporation Workers Union at the side of union of fireplace department workers affiliated to Sarv Karamchari Sangh, Haryana participated in the strike. The workers on Monday made up our minds to extend the strike for three extra days.
State Urban Local Bodies minister Kavita Jain on Sunday asked the workers to finish their strike and join accountability. Kavita claimed that many of the calls for of the municipal workers have already been met. The ex-minister and member of Parliament Venod Sharma got here in support of the strike of municipal workers at the municipal place of business in Ambala. Venod confident the workers that he is in solidarity with them and mentioned that the federal government should accept the calls for of the placing workers.

The state govt has given a rationalization that the contractual workers cannot be regularized at the moment as in line with the orders of the prime court. On September 2, 2016, a double bench of the Punjab and Haryana prime court has put a stay on regularisation of workers under various policies.


Nearly 30,000 workers and workers, including sanitation workers of greater than 75 municipal committees and councils, started a three-day strike on Wednesday final week demanding regularisation of contractual team of workers. On Friday, they made up our minds to extend the strike until May 14.


The fire department contractual workers also are raising their voice towards the federal government for regularising the workers and on this case, they are interrupting the emergency products and services of fireplace.


The predominant secretary, Urban Local Bodies, Haryana, Anand Mohan Sharan mentioned the calls for from the workers are unjustifiable as in line with the court orders. District president of Municipal Corporation Employees Union, Pradeep Kumar Machal mentioned, “We will continue to pressurize the federal government in long term as ordered through our state management of Sarv Karamchari Sangh, Haryana.”
