PATNA: Ten of the 11 newly elected contributors of the Bihar legislative council together with CM Nitish Kumar, Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, former CM Rabri Devi and RJD’s state president and previous minister Ram Chandra Purbey took oath as contributors of the higher house at a specifically organised programme on the Council’s annexe development here on Monday.
Others who took oath because the council member for the primary time are Khalid Anwar and Ram Ishwar Mahto, both JD(U), Sayed Khurshid Mohammad Mohsin (RJD), Prem Chandra Mishra (Congress), Sanjay Paswan (BJP) and Santosh Kumar Suman (HAM-S)
The Council’s appearing chairman Haroon Rashid administered oath of membership to the newly elected contributors.
BJP leader and state’s health minister Mangal Pandey may not be administered oath as MLC as a result of he may not succeed in the venue on the scheduled time. “Pandey might be administered oath because the MLC, the day he'll report back to the council secretariat about his availability within the state capital,” Rashid informed TOI.
Sources within the BJP stated, Pandey is lately in Bengaluru engaged in campaigning in favour of the birthday party applicants in Karnataka meeting polls.
Once Pandey takes oath, it would be his 2d time period within the council, whereas the Nitish, Sushil Modi and Rabri Devi entered the higher house for their time period. One time period within the council completes in six years. RJD’s veteran and previous education minister Purbey entered the home for the fourth time period. Purbey had previous been elected as MLC in 1986, 1992 and 1998.
With the recent election of these 11 contributors, the 75-member Council now has its complete power. Despite shedding three seats within the recent polls, the ruling JD(U), with present power of 32, continues to stay the largest birthday party within the upper house. With 22 contributors, BJP is the second one biggest birthday party. Other allies of NDA having presence within the council are LJP(2) and RLSP- one member.
With present power of 9 contributors, RJD has emerged as the largest among the opposition events within the council. Others in opposition are Congress(3), CPI(2) and HAM-S(1).
Former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi-led HAM(S) has entered the council for the primary time. Its lone member Santosh is son of Manjhi. While Manjhi himself is lone member of his birthday party within the meeting, his son might be lone member of the birthday party in council.
With nine contributors, the RJD can now make a claim for the publish of the Leader of Opposition within the council. Last year, the council had rejected the RJD’s request to nominate Rabri because the leader of opposition on plea that the birthday party didn't have required selection of contributors needed for the publish. Then, the birthday party had simplest seven contributors within the council.
Earlier, RJD’s Gulam Gaus was once given the standing of leader of opposition when the birthday party had a power of 9 within the council.
