Rainwater seeps into Andhra secretariat chambers

Heavy rainfall in Guntur and Krishna districts on Tuesday exposed the development quality of the Andhra Pradesh secretariat development on Tuesday.

The rain that endured for around 30 minutes flooded the premises of the AP secretariat in Velagapudi.


The seepage thru ceiling and partitions is continuous to hang-out the chamber of Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy within the AP Secretariat complex. The house responsibilities workforce of the secretariat rushed to Reddy’s chamber and mopped the ground. Waiting Hall close to Secretariat Gate-2 also witnessed seepage.


Last year also, Jagan's chamber confronted the similar fate during rainy season. After a number of protests from YSRCP, the Speaker ordered an inquiry into the matter. However, the inquiry committee closed the issue by way of giving a report mentioning water leakage were caused by way of pipes which were reduce.


Participating in a debate at the matter in secreteriat, TDP leader Chandu Sambasiva Rao stated water entered the room because of an open window. Narayanamurthy stated that it is going on in each and every minister's chamber.


AP secratariat workforce was once now not in their offices as it was once May 1. So there wasn't much inconvenience to the workforce. But many are commenting at the construction quality of AP secretariat after this incident.
