TIRUPUR: The Tirupur North police on Friday arrested a 23-year-old man for sharing an offensive symbol of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Facebook.
M Prabakaran shared the offensive symbol on Facebook and invited his FB pals to present an acceptable identify for it.
Based at the complaint given through BJP Tirupur North district president R Chinnasamy, the police booked him below Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
The accused is operating as a device operator at a private corporate near Veerapandi.
Though he has shared photographs of a political leader on Facebook a minimum of thrice, the police may not ascertain that he was a member of that leader's party.
