Tripura CM Biplab Deb again makes controversial statement, says critics' nails must be chopped off

NEW DELHI: Tripura's chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has once more courted controversy, this time via pronouncing that if anyone criticises his govt "their nails need to be chopped off", reported ANI news agency.

"It shouldn't happen that with my government, somebody points fingers at it or scratches it with their nails. Anyone who scratches it, their nails should be chopped off," stated Deb in a speech, the video of which was tweeted via ANI.

The CM used the analogy of what a vegetable supplier goes through let's say his level.

"A vegetable seller brings fresh bottle gourd to market at 8 in the morning. By 9 am, so many people have touched it, it gets so many nail marks that it can't be sold. Then it must be either fed to a cow or taken back home. I will not allow that to happen to my government," he stated, occurring to then say critics' nails should be chopped off.



Deb's newest remark comes at the heels of other controversial things he's stated not too long ago.


Two weeks in the past, the Tripura CM stated that the internet existed all over the time of the fictional Mahabharata. Last week he stated, "mechanical engineers should not join the civil carrier". Also ultimate week he wondered how fashion Diana Hayden was topped Miss World.


And on Sunday, he stated the formative years of Tripura should waste their time and run after govt jobs, they should milk cows or open paan stores to earn a livelihood. "The formative years right here runs after political events for several years to get a central authority activity and wastes the important time in their lifestyles, had the similar formative years as an alternative of running after events set up a paan shop he would have via now had a financial institution stability of Rs five lakh," stated Deb.
