UP men booked for thrashing youth over inter-faith relationship

LUCKNOW: A group of men has been booked for assault for brutally thrashing a young Muslim man at a railway platform in Kanpur district after he admitted to a "relationship" with a Hindu girl.
The incident happened closing week but UP Police swung into motion after a video appearing the incident went viral on social media on Friday.

This comes days after a Sikh policeman in Uttarakhand got here to the rescue of a Muslim man after he was allegedly found in a compromising place with a Hindu woman outdoor a temple.

The video from Kanpur presentations Rizwan, a 21-year-old hairdresser, sitting on a bench at Barrajpur railway platform and being requested to narrate main points of his relationship with a Hindu woman. The man had long gone to drop the woman at the railway station.

Rizwan, also known as Samir, runs a salon in Rahmatnagar of Chaubepur village in Kanpur.

UP govt showed that a case has been registered by govt railway police (GRP) towards four assailants, of which two were identified as Mohan and Bhole Dubey.


"The matter was brought to our notice and probe has already begun. We will arrest all accused," mentioned UP Police spokesman Rahul Srivastava.


While Rizwan has claimed that the lads have affiliations to a Hindu outfit, police say the details have been being ascertained. In the video, the lads may also be heard many times hurling abuses at Rizwan in Hindi, asking him to spot the woman's title and his own.


He may be warned to make admissions of intercourse with the lady on digicam as the lads film him while caution him that such incidents can be shared with Bajrang Dal and "exposed" in media.


The man is heard making pleas to depart him on my own.
