Waiter stabbed in Chennai restaurant, dies

CHENNAI: A waiter was once stabbed to death via his colleague over a petty quarrel at a cafe in Semmencherry on Monday night.
Police have picked up the accused, P Anil Gurung, 29, of Darjeeling, on fees of murder.

The sufferer, S Enesh Rai, 26, also from Darjeeling, had joined the Robot Restaurant on OMR two months ago. Anil has been running on the eating place for over a yr. It is alleged that Anil continuously fought with Enesh as the latter was once his junior. The duo had quarrels over cleansing utensils.

Around nine.30pm on Monday, as standard Anil intervened in Enesh’s paintings and asked him to wash the utensils. This led to an argument between them. In a fit of rage, Anil took a kitchen knife and stabbed Enesh in the chest. He stabbed him again and again until Enesh fell subconscious. Shocked over the incident, many customers left the eating place. The fellow staff rushed Enesh to Global Hospitals, where he was once declared brought dead.


Later Semmanchery police retrieved the frame and despatched it to Royapettah Government Hospital for postmortem.


The police arrested Anil and seized the knife from him. They are interrogating him.


“The colleagues on the eating place had earlier tried to kind out the problem between the two however in vain,” said an investigating officer.


As a results of the murder, the eating place was once closed on Tuesday.
