BATHINDA: Concerned over numerous students complaining of complications after taking the measles rubella (MR) vaccination, a workforce from the Centre visited Bathinda on Tuesday.
The workforce comprising WHO sub-regional coordinator S Srinivasan and Union health ministry consultant Dr Gomti visited two wards of the Bathinda civil health center to gather details about problems faced by the youngsters post-vaccination.
The immunisation authorities from Punjab also gathered samples of vaccines and syringes to be tested at Central Research Institute (CRI), Kasauli. The cultures (blood samples) of students had been also gathered to test whether these are virus caused or vaccination caused.
As five new circumstances had been reported in Bathinda since Monday night time, the vaccination was suspended in Bathinda urban area for an afternoon on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, state immunisation officer Dr G B Singh, accompanied by Bathinda civil surgeon Dr Hari Narain Singh, visited some faculties and talked to youngsters. He stated nearly 20 students with minor complications had been reported in Bathinda but the state of affairs was now not alarming.
