CHENNAI: A 43-year-old girl from Avadi sustained critical injuries in a fall from a two-wheeler while resisting a sequence snatching attempt. The incident was reported at Porur along Maduravoyal-Tambaram bypass highway here on Sunday night around 11pm.
The injured was recognized as R Valli, wife of Ravi, 45, who works at a non-public firm in Ambattur Industrial Estate.
According to the police, the couple was on its long ago house in Avadi Tank Factory after visiting Valli’s mother, who was undergoing treatment in Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute at Porur. Valli was riding pillion.
Two motorcycle-borne men, who were following the couple, attempted to grab a gold chain from Valli.
She resisted the grab and held directly to her chain tightly. Ravi lost keep an eye on of the motorbike because the snatchers endured pulling Valli’s chain. In her attempt to hold directly to the chain, Valli’s head hit towards the two-wheeler and she fell at the highway. Ravi too suffered minor injuries. As Valli started bleeding profusely, she lost consciousness. Seeing this, passersby got here to her rescue.
Meanwhile, the robbers got on their motorbike and escaped through a whisker when few onlookers attempted to snatch them. They fled the spot giving no time for others to notice down their car registration number or their faces, the police mentioned.
The 108 emergency ambulance services and products arrived at the spot and she was taken to MIOT Hospital for treatment. She was admitted to the extensive care unit in the hospital as she sustained grievous injuries to her head.
The Maduravoyal police have filed a case and are in search of the suspects.
A police officer investigating the case mentioned that they have got gathered footage from CCTV cameras at the within sight toll plaza and other business establishments in the locality to establish the robbers’ identification.
