Tirupur: The technical committee of Union ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) has authorized to arrange a dressmaker studio at NIFT-TEA school of knitwear fashion in Tirupur to offer opportunities for MSMEs to expand designs at low price. The Rs 15-crore facility awaits the overall approval of the steerage committee.

Earlier as a part of the cluster building programme, industrialists sought the Centre to offer assistance to arrange the dressmaker studio. “After the approval, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) would grant up to 80% of the cost, as sought,” mentioned T R Vijayakumar, normal secretary of Tirupur exporters’ affiliation.


“The studio may have state-of-art facilities in design building, from communications to information. Display of new merchandise in fibre, yarns and upholstery, and its allied applied sciences will also be a part of the studio.
