Work on Kanpur route delays trains

LUCKNOW: Due to ongoing electronic interlocking work on Lucknow-Kanpur direction, rankings of trains arrived greater than three hours overdue in Lucknow. Officials of Northern Railway and North Eastern Railway said the delays would proceed for every other month.

Around 120 mail and categorical trains run on Lucknow-Kanpur direction daily. Most of them arrive and depart overdue due to the ongoing work.


On Friday, the delays incorporated: Darbhanga Express (3 hours), Kota-Patna Express (4 hours), Kushinagar Express (3 hours), Vaishali Express (2.five hours) and Swarn Shatabdi Express (30 minutes) at both Charbagh railway station and Lucknow Junction.


Renovation and remodelling work is on at several places in Lucknow department.


“We are seeking to make it as handy as possible for our passengers. But we also regret the problems caused. The work is perhaps completed inside a month,” said NR divisional railway supervisor (DRM) Satish Kumar.


DRM NER Lucknow department Vijaylaxmi Kaushik said the renovation work and other operational work used to be on its peak to extend services and products and amenities for passengers. Some trains are arriving overdue by way of a couple of minutes, however the issue shall be resolved soon.
