GURUGRAM: The ambitious City Forest challenge, which includes a 5km-long green walking and jogging track, is getting behind schedule via issues in acquiring a 70m-long stretch in DLF 4.
Situated close to the residential society Regency Park 1, govt companies are yet to acquire the plot of land. The land acquisition is required for finishing the track in addition to to verify flow of rainwater all the way through monsoons and save you water-logging.

In January 2016, the woodland department and Huda, along with a city-based NGO, began reviving the Chakkarpur bund to replenish the town’s groundwater desk. As part of the challenge, a City Forest was proposed along the bund, with a walking and jogging track on the bund itself.

The challenge, being advanced as a public-private partnership (PPP), was to be completed in two levels. A 2.6km stretch from Paras Hospital to Sector 56 was given to NGO IAmGurugram, to broaden under woodland department’s supervision, whilst a 2.4 km stretch, from Chakkarpur village to Paras Hospital, was to be completed via Huda.

A senior Huda legitimate stated paintings on 4km has been completed, with the NGO finishing its section. The last paintings may be completed via August. “A 70m-stretch close to Regency Park 1 is yet to be obtained, which has behind schedule the challenge, as Huda is not able to dig the drains,” he added.


Huda estate officer 2 has written to his administrator, in search of lend a hand in acquiring the land. He stated house owners had been asked at hand over the land for them to finish the track and construct the drain. “The subject is lying with Chief Minister’s Office. A decision is expected soon,” he added.


Huda’s portion had noticed uneven development. On July three, 2016, the woodland department cancelled its permission, after it famous that Huda’s paintings on the jogging track was now not up to the mark, whilst the natural drain alongside the bund was being concreted, towards environmental norms.


In a letter, the woodland department stated Huda must glance as much as the NGO on get its paintings achieved. “This callous attitude via Huda officials presentations their unwillingness in executing paintings on time,” they wrote to Huda. But on July 30, 2016, Huda was once more authorised to excavate the drain. The jogging track was, on the other hand, given to the NGO to finish.
