GUWAHATI: Congress in Assam has come beneath some sharp grievance in social media after its Lakhimpur district unit on Wednesday used a child to level a protest against BJP rule.
The Congress protesters took out a rally in Lakhimpur that was led via a birthday celebration member pulling a child seated at the bark of betel nut tree on the street beneath sweltering heat. The district police have filed a suo moto case against the protesters.
State PCC chief Ripun Bora on Thursday has requested president of Lakhimpur district unit Joyprakash Das to mushy an apology for Wednesday’s incident. “The state president has taken a major note of this shameful incident and has ordered an enquiry to determine the wrongdoer and start up disciplinary motion against him,” PCC general secretary (management) Sailen Bora said.
