Dark clouds, scattered rain keep Kolkata cool

KOLKATA: With the northern limit of the Southwest monsoon having coated all of the Jalpaiguri district via Sunday, the Met place of business expects heavy rains to lash parts of North Bengal in the following few days. The monsoon current started its revival and via Saturday it had complex in opposition to some parts of south Bengal. Kolkata on Sunday got its share of scattered rain that saved the heat at bay.
"Meanwhile there is warning for widespread rain for north Bengal with heavy to very heavy rain showers in isolated pockets for the next five days," stated Sanjib Bandyopadhyay, deputy director general of meteorology at Regional Meteorological Centre Kolkata,

"Conditions are favourable for further advancement of the monsoon in other parts of West Bengal in the next 48 hours," Bandyopadhyay added.


The Met place of business guarantees extra monsoon showers in the coming days. Heavy rains may lash the coastal districts beginning Monday while remainder of the Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata will get scattered rain.


The Met place of business earlier had predicted the monsoon current to realize momentum and advance further in between June 23 and 25.


"We expect heavy rain in isolated pockets in coastal districts within the 24 hours while the rest of Gangetic Bengal will get scattered rain. The temperature will be much under check for now," added Bandyopadhyay.


The scattered rain on Sunday combined via the darkish clouds n Monday saved the heat at bay. The maximum temperature dropped further to face at 30.2 stage Celsius that was once 3 notches underneath the standard mark.
