MYSURU: A 69-year-old retired government employee who was reportedly suffering from a number of illnesses hanged himself at a resort in Srirangapatna on Wednesday. He left a cheque for Rs 40,000 for his remaining rites and instructions on how they will have to be performed and through who.
Police mentioned the senior citizen, known as Ramakrishna, was a resident of Ramakrishnanagar in Mysuru. He checked into a resort in Srirangapatna on Tuesday and allegedly dedicated suicide an afternoon later. “Family contributors mentioned he was depressed during the last few days due to poor health. He has taken this excessive step for that reason,” a police officer mentioned.
