Kerala sells like hot cakes, as Nipah fails to scare Ludhianvis

LUDHIANA: With the much-awaited summer vacations, town citizens are making plans to fly out to different destinations in India and out of the country to take a smash from the recent and humid weather stipulations. But in a surprising revelation, commute agents within the town say Kerala is the hottest selling destination this summer, despite the Nipah virus outbreak there. What is even more attention-grabbing is that just as a precaution, holiday-makers are taking along medications with them sooner than flying out to Kerala.

Speaking to TOI, Dr Ankita Prashar (MD) said: “I've come throughout several circumstances during which other people travelling to Kerala for holidays or trade visits are taking medicines for their protection, in addition to taking some medications along side them to steer clear of contracting viral infections. This pattern has been witnessed ever for the reason that news of Nipah virus in Kerala had spread.”

According to commute agents, there are several reasons why a large number of other people nonetheless favor travelling to Kerala, despite the scare of Nipah virus. Speaking to TOI, Rohit Singla, a commute agent based totally at Gill Road, said: “People are travelling to Kerala because of several causes. One is that as in comparison to different vacationer destinations like Goa, Rajasthan, Agra, and so forth, the elements in Kerala is very pleasant now, and secondly, the cost of a holiday bundle in Kerala is very low, as in comparison to different destinations.”

Travel agent Sandeep Gupta said: “We are getting a large number of bookings for destinations in southern India, together with Kerala. I don’t suppose persons are going through any virus factor there. This is going on for the reason that scenario in north Indian vacationer destinations isn't excellent, with Shimla going through a water disaster, and Kashmir nonetheless simmering with pressure. Because of this, puts like Manali and Mussoorie are over-booked, and tourists are going through massive issues there, like traffic jams and prime price of commute packages. Maybe that’s why they're preferring to commute to Kerala.”

BRS Nagar resident Ashank Sharma, who has booked a bundle for Kerala, said: “We are going to visit Kerala within the first week of July, and the rationale we chose it's because in addition to the bundle being inexpensive, Kerala is a destination where there's no mad rush of visitors, and it's calm and peaceful. As some distance as Nipah virus is concerned, it might probably spread any place, so we will be able to take precautions about hygiene, and steer clear of visiting puts where the circumstances had been reported.”
