KOLKATA: A arithmetic tutor used to be arrested on Wednesday and charged underneath Pocso Act for molesting a 15-year-old scholar in his educational at Baghajatin past due on Tuesday night. A mob vandalised the academic earlier than the law enforcement officials arrested Azadgarh resident Amit Shaw, 25.
Subhabrata Ray, owner of the property, said the academic have been working for the past 14 months and all streams were taught to students learning in class VIII to XII. At least 70 students are enrolled within the tuition.
"A mob gathered around 4pm on Wednesday and stayed here for three hours. They vandalized the CCTVs, laptops, tables and chairs. My family members were in deep shock and fear until the cops arrived. I had never expected I will have to go through this."
The Jadavpur police stopped the protesters from inflicting further injury and arrested the accused, a resident of Azadgarh. A case underneath particular sections of the stringent Pocso Act has been slapped towards the accused.
Cops sources said the girl had enrolled within the local training centre run through her neighbours. On Tuesday night, the girl, a scholar of Class IX, had long past to attend tuitions. She returned a bit of past due than expected and avoided speaking with her family.
The subsequent day, when she persisted to not forget about her mom's questions about her health, they requested her to provide an explanation for her conduct. It is then that the girl narrated her demanding experience.
The Class IX woman claimed the tutor had sent away the opposite students after class and made his advance.
"Local enquiry revealed a coaching centre was operating at the ground floor of the building. A minor girl was in her mathematics tuition at the centre around 9.15pm when the accused sexually harassed her. We have arrested the accused on the basis of a complaint submitted by her mother," said an investigating officer from the Jadavpur police.
