Shujaat Bukhari's murder: J&K police release photos of 4 suspects, say conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan
NEW DELHI: The Jammu & Kashmir Police on Thursday launched photos of the four top suspects involved in the killing of journalist Shujaat Bukhari.
The police known as Bukhari's killing a crime of terror and said the homicide conspiracy used to be hatched in Pakistan and completed by terror team Lashkar-e-Taiba.
As already reported by TOI, the mastermind of the assault is Sajjad Gul, a native of Srinagar who is now settled in Pakistan. According to police, Gul is related to LeT.
A lookout notice has been issued against Sajjad, said SP Pani, IGP Kashmir Range, giving main points of the case at a press conference.
Sajjad, who did his MBA from a personal institution in Bengaluru, crossed over to Pakistan five years in the past and is now settled in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
"We have tangible evidence to establish that the conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan. The evidence we have in cooperation with service providers is that they belong to Pakistan," the IGP said.
The 3 others involved in the terror assault had been recognized as Ajad Ahmad Malik, Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat and Naveed Jatt, he said.
