HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday favoured promotion of farm mechanisation and putting in place meals processing units in the state.
The Agriculture Extension Officers (AEO) should play a key function in promoting farm mechanisation and organising crop colonies and meals processing units, he said.
Rao, who held a gathering with officials, said the AEOs (appointed for a cluster of five,000 acres) should have detailed data on all the farmers of their respective cluster.
The data on all the clusters should be to be had with the agriculture minister, Rao said,in line with a liberate from his office.
The chief minister can have a gathering with AEOs, district agriculture officials and others in Hyderabad on June 4 to discuss other issues regarding agriculture.
The AEOs should train the farmers in his cluster on the cropping pattern and about the most productive crop that fits the soil etc. The AEO should also coordinate the selling facility on the farmers produce each within the state and outdoor the state in the neighbouring states, Rao said.
