CHENNAI: A 46-year-old girl died on Tuesday after falling off a two-wheeler at Enathur at the Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway on Sunday.
The coincidence happened when the woman was going to Arcot together with her husband to invite kin for their daughter’s marriage ceremony. According to police, Mohana of Muthuvel Nagar near Urappakkam, who was riding pillion, fell off the two-wheeler after her husband, Kumar, had implemented a unexpected brake to keep away from the car hitting a pedestrian crossing the street in entrance of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital.
Mohana, who suffered head accidents, was rushed to Government Hospital in Kancheepuram. Later, she was referred to Government General Hospital in Chennai, the place she died.
The Kancheepuram taluk police registered a case. The couple had not worn helmets, the police said.
