Tuticorin: Postmortem ordered for remaining bodies

CHENNAI: The Madras top courtroom on Tuesday directed authorities to habits postmortem at the bodies of the rest six out of 13 other folks killed in police firing at the anti-Sterlite protesters in Tuticorin on May 22.
The postmortem will be conducted as directed via the courtroom on May 30 in the presence of a professional from both AIIMS or JIPMER or Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram, only if the families of the deceased call for so.

In the absence of any such call for, autopsy will be conducted as achieved most often. However, after all, safeguards like video recording of the procedure and maintaining bullets or another international subject material, if any, must be followed, the primary bench of Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice P T Asha stated.

Recording the submissions, the bench noted that the incident was very unfortunate which required a probe. “But at the present, we are more concerned with completing the autopsy and delivering the bodies to family members without any more extend,” the courtroom stated.
