Woman dies after botched C-section

HYDERABAD: Seven months after an alleged botched Caesarean section (C-section) surgical operation at a personal clinic in Shadnagar, a 25-year-old girl died whilst present process remedy for post-operative complications at Osmania Hospital on Saturday. The girl's family alleged that medical doctors of a personal clinic in Shadnagar, the place she was once admitted for supply in October, 2017, had left bandage and cotton inside the patient's abdomen on the time of the surgical operation. A criminal case was once registered towards two medical doctors of the clinic.

Doctors carried out a C-section on G Haritha, 25, a resident of Shabad in Rangareddy district, on October 5, 2017, and she or he gave birth to a child lady. "After the C-Section, she had continuous pain in the abdomen area. She would throw up whatever she ate. We were worried at her condition. She couldn't even rest for long due to the pain," P Ravi, brother of Haritha, who lodged a criticism at Shadnagar police station, instructed TOI.

On April 27, Haritha was once admitted to Osmania Hospital for remedy. After a scan, the family came upon concerning the botched surgical operation. "On May 21, Osmania doctors conducted a surgery and took out the bandage and cotton from her stomach. However, she did not recover after the surgery," Ravi added.

Osmania Hospital government, on the other hand, did not verify about Haritha's surgical operation. "I am not aware of this case. However, I have directed authorities concerned to get information about the case as soon as possible," OGH superintendent B Nagender said.

Victim’s relations stage protest, document denies acting C-section

According to Shadnagar police, Haritha died round 8am on Saturday morning whilst present process remedy at Osmania Hospital.


“After Haritha’s demise, the family members protested in entrance of the non-public clinic in Shadnagar for the entire day. We had to intrude and send them house. We have registered a case underneath Section 304 (A) of the IPC for inflicting demise via negligence. We are investigating the case,” Shadnagar sub-inspector Vijay Kumar said.


The girl’s family along side local leaders staged a large protest in entrance of the clinic searching for justice for Haritha. Police swung into motion and assured the agitated staff that motion would be taken towards the folks responsible for the negligence and taken the placement underneath regulate.


“The family lodged a criticism towards two medical doctors — Dr Chandu Lal Rathod, a physician, and Dr Vijaya Lakshmi, a gynaecologist— of the non-public clinic. We are yet to arrest somebody within the case,” the SI added.


When contacted, Dr Chandu Lal Rathod said, “My wife Vijaya Lakshmi and I have not carried out any such surgical operation. We have heard concerning the case, but what the family has alleged is not true.”
