22-year-old panther Deepa critical

HYDERABAD: The Nehru Zoological Park authorities have expressed worry about the deteriorating health situation of a 22-year-old feminine panther, Deepa, who has slipped into a vital situation after affected by bronchitis for the past two months.

The zoo authorities informed that the big cat has been affected by age related health problems as a result of which there was a gradual decline in her situation.


Deepa has been kept in the extensive care unit of the scientific facility where she is underneath consistent observation of veterinary mavens. Officials admitted that three extra animals are combating for their lives. Officials stated the panther has now not been feeding ceaselessly and therefore she used to be weak over the length. The existence span of panthers in captivity is set 18 years and in the wild, it's estimated to be about 10 to 12 years. As the pussycat is affected by age related complications, she is not responding to treatment the zoo authorities stated.


This information comes after 44-year-old elephant, Jamuna died due to organ failure on June 19 and a 15-year-old Asiatic lion, Crazy died on June 28 due to septicaemia.
