Kidnapped Chennai bizman rescued, abductors held

CHENNAI: The Chennai town police on Tuesday night rescued a businessman who used to be kidnapped through a gang on Tuesday morning. The police arrested 10 kidnappers.
The kidnappers led through rowdy Vadakarai Sakthi demanded Rs 25 lakh as ransom to release Ganesan, who runs a truck shipping business in Red Hills. They known as up Ganesan’s family members and asked them to satisfy them near Vandalur with the ransom amount.

As urged through the police, Ganesan’s family members rushed to Vandalur with a briefcase containing cash. A police workforce led through additional commissioner of police H M Jayaram monitored them.

After attaining Vandalur, Ganesan’s family known as up the kidnappers and waited for them. When the kidnappers arrived there in a automotive, the police workforce nabbed five of the 10 kidnappers and rescued the victim. Later, they arrested the rest of the kidnappers from their hiding place in Red Hills.

“The kidnap case used to be solved inside 12 hours,” said joint commissioner of police north Chennai Prem Anand Sinha.


The arrested kidnappers were known as S Sakthivel alias Vadakarai Sakthi, 49, of Red Hills, V Suman, 39, of Thiruporur, Okay Madan Kumar, 27, of Ennore, M Ganesh, 37, of Naidupet in Andhra Pradesh, A Ashok, 35, of Chromepet, S Rajesh, 21, S Satheeshkumar, 25, and S Siva, 25 (the final 3 are natives of Red Hills).


The police seized a automotive and guns from them.


Sakthi used to be interested by 13 instances together with a homicide case 3 attempt to homicide instances.
