KOLKATA: The 66-year-old proprietor of a grocery store in Kasba’s Naskarhat was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a 15-yearold mentally challenged woman inside of his store on Tuesday. Kasba police have slapped sections 6 and 10 of the Pocso Act and produced the accused in courtroom. The survivor has been sent for medical checkup at the CNMC medical institution.
Earlier within the day, more than 200 locals gheraoed the store and then officers of the native police station led by means of the officer in charge convinced the protesters and took the accused, Prasanta Kumar, with them. According to the grievance by means of the minor’s mother, the lady had long past to the store when the accused managed to convince her to stay again as it was raining out of doors. The woman was waiting throughout the store, when Kumar allegedly molested the lady and sexually abused her. The woman raised a cry and a girl, a relative of the survivor, caught the accused red-handed.
