BHUBANESWAR: Slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly reneging on his promise of facilitating building of a superspecialty hospital in Rourkela, the Congress legislature birthday celebration (CLP) on Monday sought an appointment with him to donate a cheque for Rs 20 lakh, raised via the Congress from around the country in toughen of the proposed healthcare challenge.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi not too long ago introduced to boost funds after Muktikanta Biswal walked from Rourkela to Delhi to remind Modi of his promise. Modi, all the way through his discuss with to Rourkela on April 1, 2015, had introduced that the Centre would upgrade Ispat General Hospital (IGH) right into a superspecialty hospital and scientific college.

The veteran Congress MLA said he, on behalf of CLP, has sought an appointment with Modi. "We hope that the Prime Minister grants us an early appointment, Mishra said. The BJP criticized Congress for raising the issue to hog the limelight. "Narasingha babu's charges are baseless. He perhaps is at the hours of darkness that the Centre has already sanctioned over Rs 200 crore for upgrading IGH right into a superspecialty hospital," said BJP senior Samir Mohanty. Reacting to Mohanty's statement, Mishra tweeted, "They (BJP) must inform when and beneath which head they've given the mentioned Rs 200cr".
