Gujarat Congress MLA resigns, may join BJP

GANDHINAGAR: Senior Gujarat Congress MLA and outstanding Koli group leader Kunwarji Bawalia on Tuesday tendered his resignation as a legislator in addition to from the birthday party.


Bawalia, a six-time MLA from Jasdan constituency in Rajkot district, passed over his papers to Gujarat Assembly Speaker Rajendra Trivedi.


Bawalia was elected to the Lok Sabha from Rajkot all over the 2009 elections.


The Koli group leader, who has been sulking ever because the December 2017 elections for being unnoticed for any key birthday party position, is most likely to sign up for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and, sources imagine, might be inducted into the Vijay Rupani cupboard.


His resignation comes days after any other leader from Rajkot, former legislator Indranil Rajyaguru, hand over alleging that the Congress leadership unnoticed the aspirations of a number of birthday party seniors.
