Six drunk men attack cop in Chennai

CHENNAI: A constable connected to the Royapettah police station is struggling with for his life after six under the influence of alcohol men hacked him with sickles on Monday evening.
The constable, Rajavelu, 35, who was on evening patrol, rushed to the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board building close to PM Dargah after he was knowledgeable about some under the influence of alcohol men creating a ruckus there. He discovered six under the influence of alcohol men teasing ladies and indulging in verbal abuse.

Rajavelu warned the under the influence of alcohol men and requested them to leave the spot.


Later, because the constable was about to leave the place on his two-wheeler, the under the influence of alcohol men encircled him. They attacked him with sickles.


Rajavelu, who suffered accidents on his head and shoulders, fainted and fell at the ground. The under the influence of alcohol men fled the scene.


Some passersby got here to his rescue and took him to Government Royapettah Hospital.


The police nabbed six men in reference to the attack.
