CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (Tanuvas) on Tuesday released the rank checklist for admissions to veterinary classes within the 2018-19 educational 12 months. Counselling may start within the fourth week of July, Tanuvas vice-chancellor Dr C Balachandran said.
This would be the final educational 12 months when admissions to veterinary classes are carried out based on Class XII marks. From subsequent educational 12 months onwards, admissions shall be primarily based NEET.
Educational specialists have said the cut-off for open class scholars is prone to fall to 197.25 from 198.75 in 2017.
This 12 months, 11,948 scholars will compete for 288 B Vsc (educational) seats. Besides, 159 scholars from vocation movement would compete for 59 seats. There are 94 seats in food, poultry and dairy technology.
The university allocates 15% of its overall seats to the Veterinary Council of India and five% of seats to those candidates who studied vocational classes. While the Veterinary Council of India would get 54 seats and those from the vocational movement could be allotted 18 seats, Balachandran said.
