Yogi Adityanath kicks off Kanpur-Delhi SpiceJet flight

KANPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday prompt civil aviation minister Suresh Prabhu and Central govt to increase Hindon and Jewar airports at Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar respectively as civil airports as it's going to ease force on Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. He said in long run Hindon/Jewar airports shall be connected with UP's Allahabad and Varanasi airports. Similarly, Kanpur airport shall be related with Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata airports, he added.

He was once speaking at a function held at Chakeri airport to mark starting of Delhi-Kanpur SpiceJet flight from the city. As the flight from delhi landed at the airport, Kanpur was once put back at the nation's air map after over 13 months.

CM: Air services and products will help boosting business and industry


After a temporary keep, the flight took off for Delhi on go back adventure. The flight from Kanpur was once inaugurated through Yogi and Union minister Suresh Prabhu. Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, BJP MP Murli Manohar Joshi and state ministers Nand Gopal Nandi and Satish Mahana have been also provide.


Speaking at the instance, Yogi said the release of Eastern-Peripheral Expressway has made access to IGI airport clean and simple from Ghaziabad. Funds had been released for construction of airport and a terminal at Kushinagar, he added.


The CM said air connectivity performs crucial role in the building of the region. "This industrial city will be benefited by such air services which will help boosting business and trade, unlocking region's tourism potential and enabling fast medical service," Yogi said.


Yogi said as centre of defence corridor, Kanpur would soon be the biggest defence items provider. Besides, as the city is a hub of leather-based, textile items, etc., it has great attainable to generate new business as well as employment. "Therefore, Kanpur must get air connectivity with other major cities of the country and some international destinations. This would not only save the time of businessmen, but also enhance business opportunities in the city," he added.



Chairman and managing director of SpiceJet, Ajay Singh, said the flight would continue and Kanpur could be soon connected with different major towns of the rustic.



Earlier, Prabhu said in absence of air connectivity, building of Kanpur were stalled. He said air shipment policies have been being ready and there was once risk that shipment planes could be operated between other air fields in night time. He too wired that Kanpur should be connected with different major towns. Joshi said that air connectivity with Delhi and different towns would enhance business in town.
