GURUGRAM: Power discom DHBVN has raked in Rs 1.6 crore as part of a drive towards energy theft in June within the new Gurugram circle. This is a decrease from the Rs2.nine crore that the discom had recovered within the earlier month.
Officials said it was glaring that stringent penalties and regular patrolling had helped curb energy pilferage.
Officials said that while that they had levied penalty to the tune of Rs109.80 crore within the sub-urban division, the amount stood at Rs 51 lakh within the Sohna division.
“There had been 102 instances of theft reported from the sub-urban division and every other 83 theft instances from the Sohna division,” an reliable said. “In total, there have been 185 instances in May.”
Last month, as part of its biggest haul, the discom recovered a penalty of Rs2.nine crore. Around 350 instances were reported.
