SHIMLA: BJP MP Anurag Thakur has slammed a Facebook post by a former Congress legislator on Janmashtami, drawing Rahul Gandhi's consideration to the "anti-Hindu" sentiment displayed there.
Former Congress MLA from Jawali within the Kangra district Neeraj Bharti's post carried an illustration from the tale of Krishna, watching gopis shower within the Yamuna. It asked "Aaj Iska Janmadin Hai Kya" (Is as of late His birthday).
Alleging that Gandhi's Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a farce, the BJP chief whip in parliament said, "Such a derogatory post under your protection is an attack on the religious sentiments of the people." Meanwhile, Kangra Superintendent of Police Santosh Patial instructed PTI that the district police had now not gained any criticism on this connection.
"If we receive any complaint, appropriate legal action will be taken against him," the SP said.
