PM Modi celebrates Diwali with jawans in Uttarakhand's Harsil

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday celebrated Diwali with Army and ITBP group of workers at Harsil village in Uttarakhand, continuing his tradition of celebrating the competition with jawans.

Later, PM Modi also offered prayers on the Kedarnath temple. He also interacted with folks from close by spaces who had gathered to greet him on Diwali.

Greeting the jawans at the instance, the Prime Minister stated their devotion to duty within the far off icy heights, is enabling the power of the nation, and securing the longer term and the goals of 125 crore Indians, a observation from his place of business stated.

The Prime Minister recalled that he has been visiting infantrymen on Diwali ever since he was the chief minister of Gujarat. He also spoke of his interactions with the jawans of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), years in the past when he was a part of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

The Prime Minister stated India is taking nice strides forward within the defence sector. He spoke of more than a few measures being taken for the welfare of ex-servicemen, together with implementation of 'one rank, one pension' (OROP).

Modi stated that the Indian Armed Forces draw admiration and appreciation internationally, in UN peacekeeping operations.

This is the 5th successive Diwali that Prime Minister Modi has celebrated with jawans at the border.
