BENGALURU; Traffic was once affected within the central industry district (CBD) after Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) suspended services and products between MG Road and Indiranagar stations on the Purple Line on Friday night.

Many passengers lined up at stations like MG Road and Cubbon Park ahead of BMRCL suspended services and products.


For passengers’ convenience, BMRCL is working free shuttle bus services and products between Cubbon Park and Byappanahalli stations (back and forth) till 11pm on Friday and on December 29 and 30. However, BMTC drivers say they to find it difficult to park in entrance of stations like MG Road for lengthy because of the loss of bus bays. BMRCL has hired BMTC buses on informal contract basis. BMTC officers said they operated 80 shuttle services and products on Friday; 110 automobiles will ply on Saturday and 70 on Sunday. More buses shall be deployed in line with call for.


Rental motorcycles and app-based taxis have been in call for at Metro stations. “A bus ride would have taken lengthy, so I opted for a condo motorcycle from MG Road to Indiranagar,” said Amit Kumar, a passenger.


This is the first time that Metro operations are being suspended on any stretch for a protracted period.
