BENGALURU: Shivakumaraiah alias Guruji, 68, caught red-handed while distributing query papers to applicants of civil police constable tests closing week, is suspected to be a big-time exam scamster. He has bought query papers of several other govt job recruitment examinations, Central Crime Branch (CCB) police stated.
On Thursday afternoon, CCB cops searched Guruji’s flat near Eighth Milestone on Tumakuru Road, and were shocked to seek out no less than 400 photocopies of corridor tickets of applicants appearing for different tests. Some of them related to tests carried out for recruitment in woodland and police departments.
“We discovered two lockers in his bed room and succeeded in opening one of them. There were corridor tickets, names of applicants and their contact numbers in it. There were Kannada guides referred by applicants appearing for civil tests,” a senior officer stated.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, CCB police wondered a cab driver, Pradeep, who informed police that Guruji stayed in a rented flat near Eighth Milestone.
When Criminal Investigation Department sleuths arrested Guruji in May 2016 for his alleged position in leaking II PU query paper, he was dwelling in Nandini Layout. “We’ve taken possession of his flat. We’ll continue our search on Friday too. More than any paperwork or fabrics, we came across lots of empty whisky bottles,” CCB sources stated.
On November 25 morning, CCB crew had arrested Guruji and 116 applicants from an schooling institution in Somawarpet, Kodagu, after seizing query papers from them.
Agent from Pavagada held
CCB cops arrested an agent from Pavagada in Tumakuru district for allegedly selling the query papers of civil police constable tests closing week. “Mahesh had bought no less than 10 query paper copies to applicants in and round Tumakuru. We’re questioning him,” an officer stated.
