Paine invites Pant to play BBL, says 'Dhoni is back'

NEW DELHI: Australian captain Tim Paine continued his sledging within the ongoing third Test towards India. This time Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant became his goal at the third day of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.

After Paine was once caught at the stump microphone telling team-mate Aaron Finch that he would join Mumbai Indians in IPL if Rohit Sharma hits a six on the MCG, he was once at it once more from behind the stumps when Pant was once batting.

The incident happened within the 26th over of the Indian 2nd innings when Paine began unleashing his verbal volleys against Pant, inviting him to enroll in the Big Bash League franchise Hobart Hurricanes after the Test series since he was once no longer a part of India's ODI workforce.

"Tell you what, big MS (Dhoni) is back in the one day squad too, we might get him down to the (Hobart) Hurricanes this bloke, we need a batter," Paine was once heard announcing at the stump mic.




Paine didn't stop there, adding, "Fancy that Pant, extend your little Aussie holiday. Beautiful town Hobart too. Get you a nice apartment on the water front."


The 34-year-old Paine has also asked Pant whether or not he can take care of his youngsters if he is going for the flicks together with his spouse. "Have him over for dinner. Can you babysit? (Can I) take the wife to the movies one night, you can look after the kids?" Paine mentioned.


However, Pant kept his composure and selected not to reply.
