Mangaluru: The City police have seized 17 boats and recovered round 25 a number of sand that was once illegally mined from a CRZ area and deposited at the river financial institution near a non-public tutorial institute in Adyar on Thursday.
The seized sand is value Rs 1 lakh, stated police, including each and every boat is valued at Rs 1 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off that sand was once being mined from the CRZ area, a workforce from Mangaluru Rural police station and officials from the department of mines and geology carried out the raid. The accused, however, controlled to flee.
