GREATER NOIDA: A 30-year-old lady was set on fireplace through her in-laws allegedly over a dowry call for of Rs five lakh on Tuesday night time in Kalupura village of Rabupura area, Greater Noida.
Chanchal, who has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi, has won 75% burn accidents and is preventing for her existence, in keeping with police.
The accused are currently absconding and no arrests were made yet.
Originally from Rampur Bangar village in Jewar area of Greater Noida, Chanchal married Tribhuvan, a resident of Kalupura village, in June 2010 and has been living with him since. The couple has a six-and-a-half-year-old son. Tribhuvan’s folks and a brother remains with them in the home.
On December 25, Chanchal’s in-laws allegedly set her on fireplace after pouring kerosene on her. Some neighbours, who have now not been known, rushed her to Safdarjung Hospital and admitted her to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
“We won information about the incident around 10pm on December 25 night time after which a police team was sent to her space. By then, the girl have been sent to the health center and her in-laws had run away,” said Sunil Singh, SHO, Rabupura police station.
Yashpal Sharma, the girl’s brother instructed TOI that Chanchal made a phone name to him forward of the incident. “She was crying on the phone and asked me to pick out her up right away because her in-laws had been beating her and dangerous to set her on fireplace,” said Sharma.
Sharma added that the girl was being subjected to cruelty for a long time.
“We had given them many things, including money, as dowry at the time of marriage. However, her husband was an alcoholic and did little paintings. I had given him Rs five lakh on hobby because he wanted to start out a brand new trade however he spent all of the money and asked for Rs five lakh more from my sister. When she failed to give the money, her in-laws picked up a combat along with her and then attempted to kill her,” he said.
“On the root of a complaint through Chanchal’s circle of relatives, now we have registered a case in opposition to four individuals, including Tribhuvan (husband), Prakash (spouse's father), Rajkumari (spouse's mother) and Sonu (brother-in-law) under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing harm), 307 (attempt to homicide), 498A (husband or relative of husband of a lady subjecting her to cruelty) and relevant sections of Dowry Prohibition Act of IPC,” said Singh, including that the in-laws can be arrested soon.
