PUNE: Rupali Apartment in Bhusari Colony used to be partially razed on Wednesday to facilitate the construction of the Chandni Chowk flyover.
The four-storey building had 11 residences and 4 shops. The demolition started in the morning and continued until round 6pm. Most of the structure has been razed and the civic body will entire the remainder quickly. Ten folks, together with labourers and civic group of workers, performed the demolition with two excavators.
“It is the one housing complex, affected because of the venture, which used to be obtained. One or two house owners have occupied the residences in other flats which might be slated for demolition. Five more constructions can be demolished,” sources said.
The National Highway Authority of India will build the flyover. At least 80% land acquisition used to be a will have to to start work. Nearly 15 hectares and 100 constructed properties are to be obtained for the venture. The civic officials said a unique workforce will speed up the purchase. Twenty-one engineers were assigned the task.
“Over 94% properties, together with land and advanced properties, were obtained. Residential and commercial institutions can be demolished,” Santosh Bhor, head of PMC’s land and property division, told TOI.
